By Automobile:
Follow any one of many excellent roads through beautiful New England to Augusta, Maine, continuing north on Interstate 95 to Bangor, Maine and only one hour's drive on alternate Route 1A to Ellsworth; then, take Route 3 to Mount Desert Island. Once on Mount Desert Island, take Route 102 to Southwest Harbor. Go about 1 mile past the blinking light in the center of Southwest Harbor, take a left onto Route 102A. Then any take one of the next three lefts and turn right at the waterfront. Continue to the inn which will be on your left, just past the boat yard.
